This is Mona Jethmalani’s fourth year with
Anima. She is a graduate of Benedictine University
earning her degree in music education. She sang
with Elgin's premier choral ensemble Heartland Voices
for four years and has appeared frequently with
DuPage Opera Theatre. She currently sings with the
New Classic Singers of Glen Ellyn and is the choral
director at Dundee Middle School in Dundee, IL where
she directs 5 choirs and the annual musical. She
is also a private vocal instructor at Benet Academy
in Lisle teaching students from high school to adult.
She assisted with MEC in 2004 before becoming director
in 2005. As a musician, she has performed all over
Chicago including Taste of Chicago, WGN-TV, FOX-TV,
Chicago World Music Fest, Steppenwolf Theatre, Park
West and Hothouse Center for International Performance.
Her professional affiliations include National Association
for Music Education, American Choral Directors Association
and National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Ms. 'J' is currently working toward completing her
master's degree in music education from Vandercook
College of Music in 2009
